Key Features
The Theo Wanne Lakshmi 7* Ltd Edition is a hard rubber tenor saxophone mouthpiece based on the popular Lakshmi gold plated brass mouthpiece. This is a very exclusive mouthpiece, with only 50 mouthpieces being made, this is highlighted with the "Limited Edition" stamp on the mouthpiece. Its design is much like the brass Lakshmi, the elongated roll-over baffle produces a dark sound with an overtone edge and the large stadium chamber creates a powerful projection that is ideal for a leading instrument. The hard rubber construction produces a warmer sound than the metal mouthpiece.
This mouthpiece comes included with various accessories to help you with your new purchase. A leatherette case to keep your mouthpiece safe is included, along with Theo Wanne's patented mouthpiece cap. Each Lakshmi mouthpiece comes with Theo Wanne's in-built ligature, a perfect complement to the mouthpiece. Also included is a replaceable bite pad which attaches with easy to remove adhesive, just peel and stick to change!

The tip size, or tip opening, is the distance between your reed and the tip of your mouthpiece. This affects the airflow from your mouth into your mouthpiece. You can choose whichever tip opening suits you the best, however often players who desire certain sounds will get particular openings.
The smaller tip sizes will generally be easier to blow through, however, this is usually at the sacrifice of expressivity. These are popular amongst students and classical musicians. Larger tip openings are more difficult to blow through but have greater projection and expressivity. These tend to be more popular with jazz and rock musicians. As this mouthpiece is a 7* opening, it's best suited for use in jazz bands and for soloists.
