At Austrian Audio, the dedicated engineering team infuses passion into every aspect of our work, including the development of the CKR6 ceramic capsule for the OC16 Condenser Microphone. Each of these handmade capsules is meticulously crafted at their Vienna facility, ensuring unparalleled quality and high-end audio fidelity.
The OC16 Condenser Microphone features an onboard high pass filter, an invaluable tool for eliminating unwanted low frequencies such as stage noise, handling sounds, or even your Uncle Albert's singing. The filter offers four settings: "0" for inactive, "40" for a 2nd order filter at 40 Hz, "80" for a 2nd order filter at 80 Hz, and "160" for a 1st order filter from 160 Hz to 80 Hz, transitioning to a 2nd order filter below 80 Hz.
Additionally, the microphone is equipped with a Pad switch designed to reduce sensitivity and prevent overloading in loud environments. The switch has three settings: "0" for inactive, "-10" for a 10 dB decrease in sensitivity, and "-20" for a 20 dB reduction. If you find yourself seeking a "-30" option, it may be time to visit an optician, as this setting does not exist on the OC16 Condenser Microphone.
”The Austrian Audio OC16 offers a fantastic entry point into the clear and natural classic workhorse family of studio mics.” - Recording Magazine
