What's more, its adjustable stereo width control allows you to tailor the spread of the reverb effect, giving your sound a greater sense of space and depth. Whether it's a narrow, focused reverb or a wide, expansive wash of harmonics, the stereo width puts you in full control of the spatial characteristics. Plus, the inclusion of two additional modulation wave shapes offers subtle or pronounced modulation to the reverb trails, creating dreamy and ethereal tones that will captivate your audience.
With the five-way rotary dial, you can choose between five different reverb modes. In addition to the three beloved modes from the original Slö (dark, rise, and dream), the Slöer introduces two new modes: rain and light. Dark adds a mesmerizing lower octave to your reverb trail, perfect for creating deep and atmospheric sounds, while rise is an auto-swell reverb that produces beautiful cinematic swells, giving your music a gentle and gradual awakening. Additionally, its dream mode offers lush reverb with a latching pad function, allowing you to sustain the signal and experiment with vibrato.
The new rain mode creates a tappy and trippy effect by audibly echoing the reverb delay, while light produces bright and smooth reverb with an octave-up shimmer. And with the X knob on the Slöer controls various parameters on each mode, such as the level of -1 octave signal, the amount of time for the reverb to swell, the depth of vibrato, and the diffusion of the delay taps.
For even greater versatility, the Slöer features five different wave shapes accessible by holding down the bypass switch while switching the algorithm dial. From the smooth and even pitch modulation of Sine to the asymmetric pitch modulation of warp and sink, you can explore a wide range of expressive possibilities. Its square wave shape provides symmetric pitch modulation for stepped modulation, while the random wave shape uses sample and hold to generate new random values for a unique and ever-changing sound.
The Slöer is equipped with two momentary functions to add dynamic variations to your reverb sound. Its bypass switch allows you to temporarily activate the effect to add a moment of reverb texture. Holding down the bypass turns on the effect, and releasing it fades out the reverb. Alongside this is a sustain switch ramps up the reverb trail to maximum for a long, dreamy decay when pressed, and ramps it back down when released. In the dream algorithm, the sustain switch is latching, allowing you to capture and sustain the current reverb decay for extremely long pad-like sounds.
This Walrus Audio pedal can run in trails or no trails mode, giving you control over the decay of your reverb when the pedal is turned off. When in trails, the reverb decay naturally dies off, while in no trails, the decay is abruptly cut off. To toggle between the two modes, simply hold down the bypass switch for 1 second while applying power to the pedal. Furthermore, when scrolling through presets, there is preset spillover if the next preset is the same algorithm as the one preceding it. This means that switching between presets of the same algorithm will seamlessly transition without cutting off your reverb trails.
