The Schecter Hellcat VI is a unique instrument that bridges the gap between guitar and bass. While it looks and feels like a baritone guitar, it is tuned an octave lower than traditional guitars for an authentic bass range. The Hellcat has a vintage aesthetic and a unique player experience, making it the ideal instrument to stand out from the crowd, both visually and tonally.
The Hellcat IV has a modern neck providing an effortless playing experience. It has a comfy 'C' profile that sits easily in the left hand. The fingerboard is mounted with a modern 12'' radius that provides the balance between chordal comfort and soloing ease.
The Hellcat has 22 frets which are extra-jumbo size for excellent left-hand grip on the strings. The neck is mounted to the body with a sculpted low-profile 5-bolt joint which you'll hardly notice when you're gliding up and down the fingerboard.
The Hellcat is constructed with swamp ash which provides brightness and clarity; perfect for low-tuned spacious tones. The body is highly contoured for a comfortable playing feel, and is mounted to a classic maple neck for added brightness. The neck has a pau ferro fingerboard for a classic 'rosewood' response (smooth feel, excellent note attack) but with a more environmentally responsible construction.
The Hellcat VI has many vintage-inspired design touches, making it a classic and distinct instrument in its own right. It has a unique offset body shape with a classic-looking tortoiseshell pickguard. The headstock has a unique split colour design and is mounted to a maple neck with vintage faded colour.
The Hellcat VI has 3 USA Schecter MonsterTone pickups which provide super-charged single coil tones. Each pickup has its own mini-switch to allow coil-splitting, giving you both full-bodied powerful tones switchable to the clarity and sparkle of a true single coil. These pickups are wired to a 5-way switch for multiple tone combinations.
The Hellcat VI has a TonePros bridge system with custom brass saddles to slightly subdue the top-end and give a mellow and sustaining resonance. The Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut, in combination with Grover Tuners, provides a resistance-free string action for superior tuning stability.
