Excite your music. The controls on the Habit allow for a huge palette of sounds. Starting with the top three knobs, they offer all the functionality of a basic delay, so you can dial in a classic effect or lay the base sound for further modification.
Where your sound begins to blossom is through the introduction of the modify and spread settings.
Just with these six dials, the Habit presents you with an enormous canvas of creation. But these only scratch the surface of what it's capable of producing, dive in deeper with the modifying effects…
Three toggle switches can send your tone over the edge. These can be left "off" if you need tamer textures, but when you want to explore the depths of inspiration, flick these on to add totally new dynamics.
The first two toggles simply switch between the various effects offered by the modify knob, which include things like stepped speed, trimmer and filter. Each effect has a wide spectrum of voicings by changing the modify knob - so you're never going to be bored using these.
At the third toggle (In, Out and Feed) you can really transform your output. The IN setting accumulates each modify effect on every echo, creating a sound that evolves with each repeat. OUT is more controllable and keeps a consistent effect with every echo. FEED send everything straight back to the input, so your entire sound is recorded and repeated, producing astounding results.
It only gets better. Even with this colossal library of effects at your disposal, you'll be able to quickly switch between your favourites thanks to the Presets control that makes calling up your go-to sound a breeze.
Spark your musical compositions. Holding down the bypass switch initiates the echo looper, allowing you to play overtop and build up new transformative tones. That's either momentary or latching, adjustable through the DIP switch, and all of it is recorded by the memory. As you keep looping and playing, you're adding to the tapestry of textures that the Habit weaves.
Speaking of the memory, this crowning feature allows the Habit to constantly record up to three minutes of your playing. These samples can then be recalled automatically by the pedal, where it will "wander off on its own and play back bits of the memory" or manually, where you can sculpt the sound as you play.
Recycle old notes, put a spin on your new playing. Take your melodies to places unseen and unreached, this is the tool of creation that musical pioneers crave, because its possibilities are virtually infinite.
To complement its huge series of delays, controls and switches, the Habit offers you multiple ways to get the best out of it. An Expression and CV input allow you to get heel / toe control over your knobs while the MIDI input goes further and enables total control over everything within the pedal including tempo sync. And if you want external tap control over the in-built tap tempo, you've got just that.
