Hot Fuzz
It's not all doom (and gloom). While the Behringer SF300 Super Fuzz Pedal's legendary reputation may have been built on the back of doom bands and heavier musical genres, this pedal's versatility means it's as well suited to funk as it is metal. The 'Gain' knob lets you tailor how aggressive the fuzz is, from subtle and gentle to full-blown fuzzed-out mayhem. The 'Boost' setting is also extremely useful for when you just need to lift your sound to stand out in a mix, the gain on tap means this can always be easily achieved. Whether you're a total beginner or seasoned pro, the SF300 expands your sonic arsenal, and is a solid addition to any pedalboard, giving you rich, thick fuzz to blow people away with.
Secrets of the Super Fuzz
Many assume that fuzz = lots and lots of gain. With the SF-300, the opposite is true. While gain is important, and the SF300 has an ample supply, clipping often defines fuzz more. Many pedals have extremely hard clipping without much gain. The SF300 has the best of both worlds.
When the first versions of fuzz circuits were invented in the early '60s, high-gain silicone transistors didn't exist. This meant they were forced to use low gain transistors, which gave the classic vintage tone. Behringer used the same method with the SF300 to get smooth saturation and heavy fuzz without losing any sustain or character. This old-school approach is what makes the SF300 so special and the reason it's earned its legendary status.
