The Kit

The SJC Tour Series Kit Black Stain has been created with a comprehensive versatility and powerful tone that bring rich attack and deep resonance, making for a formidable sound. Although adaptable to a variety of different genres, the SJC Tour Series Kit is perfectly suited to the rock, punk or hardcore drummer. Every drum is individually tuned and played to ensure that they are ready to be played upon arrival, meaning that SJC'S astonishing tone is at the player's immediate disposal. Building on their legacy of manufacturing dynamic and versatile drums, the family orientated SJC bring unprecedented tone and definition to a new generation of drummers.

The Tom

With its considerable depth and diameter the 18" x 16" add on tom included with this kit adds an overall sonic balance with its thunderous and mighty tone. With such a low end boom the tom finds itself as perfect company for the rock or metal drummer, yet remains versatile enough to be used within a variety of genres. The 18" x 16" Tom is the perfect addition to the SJC Custom Tour Shell Pack and can be used to accentuate a variety of different styles.

Hardware

Hand cut SJC 45 degree bearing edges ensure that shells resonate and consistently stay in tune whilst producing sustain with added brightness and attack. 2.3mm triple flanged steel hoops encourage open and long sustain. The SJC shield lugs featured on the kit offer unparalleled tuning stability and adjustability over tube lugs. Designed with studio recording in mind, the SJC shield lugs have been manufactured without springs to ensure minimal sound interference. SJC branded brackets have been sized for 10.5mm rods and are lower profile to reduce mass added to the drums.

With a great sound also comes a great aesthetic. The sleek black satin stained finish upon maple gives the kit a distinctive vintage look and feel whilst maintaining its smooth tone, resonance and attack.

About SJC Drums

With humble beginnings in Mike and Scott Ciprari's (SJC) Grandmother's basement, SJC has since developed into one of the world's leading drum manufacturers and suppliers.

As the brothers' skills progressed and they got better at building, they thought it a good idea to get some of their friends to play their kits and start to spread the word. Bands such as 'A Wilhelm Scream' and 'Strike Anywhere' were some of the few endorsements from the brothers. SJC's turning point came when the musical sensation 'Panic! At the Disco' played the MTV music awards in 2006. This pivotal moment enabled the brand to branch out and endorse a variety of bigger and more diverse bands like 'Hawthorne Heights', 'Aiden' and 'Cobra Starship'. Expanding their already impressive artist roster SJC began to reach unprecedented heights and managed to move out of their grandmother's basement and into a warehouse, enabling SJC to introduce a small number of new dedicated staff.

In the last two years SJC has signed drummers Branden Steineckert (Rancid), Cyrus Bolooki (New Found Glory), Zach Lind (Jimmy Eat World) and Tre Cool (Green Day). With all these world renowned artists previously being endorsed by huge international companies, it speaks volumes of SJC for their desire to switch to a custom company.
