Another unique addition to the SLP line. The Tama SLP 14'' x 5'' Satin Vintage Hickory Snare Drum is constructed from 100% American hickory. Often used for drumstick construction, hickory is one of the strongest woods native to America. With this in mind, you can expect a wear-resistant shell with a good balance of rich lows and high-cutting, crisp tone. The offset tube lugs and vintage hickory grain add a striking, vintage finishing touch to this unique snare drum.

Unconventional shell, versatile sound

Tama are known for innovating with uncommon woods to produce new sounds. The Tama SLP 14'' x 5'' Satin Vintage Hickory Snare Drum is no exception. With a 100% American hickory shell, you can expect a clear, crisp sound. For maximum response, the 5'' depth and snappy snare wires provide tight sensitivity.

To ensure the hickory qualities are heard, Tama fitted their 2.3mm Steel Mighty Hoops to allow the ideal amount of resonance and accented highs to come through. This makes it a great, popping snare with unique characteristics from the hickory shell. Tama suggests Jazz, blues, country and funk as ideal genres for the Satin Vintage Hickory snare drum.
