The Stradivarius design is arguably the most popular and most prized violin designs, attracting fame from orchestras right across the world. Instruments manufactured during Antonio Stradivari's golden age of violin making, between 1700 and 1725, are now worth millions of pounds. The Stradivarius design of instruments is famous for its brilliant and clear tones, delivering a true, quality sound right through the whole range of the instrument. Yamaha have beautifully replicated this model to look just like those made by Antonio Stradivari, with similar qualities. This violin is capable of achieving lively tones and is tempered with enough warmth to still sound full and expressive. Players are able to express their most subtle nuances because of the instruments quick and sensitive response. Crafted by the same skilled craftsmen as the 200 series, these violins deliver exceptional quality and stunning aesthetics.

Solid Wood Construction & Aubert Bridge

This professional instrument is crafted from finely selected spruce and maple, delivering a excellent tone and a stunning appearance. The solid hand crafted body gives a beautiful resonance, particularly in the middle register, which gives this instrument it's warm and rich sound. A deluxe Aubert bridge has been included with this violin, making sure that the sound from the strings is transferred as best as possible to the body. In addition, an ebony fingerboard has been used, along with softer and more lightweight boxwood pegs, tailpiece and chinrest.

Wittner Components & Dominant Strings

The Yamaha YVN50 comes with high-quality components that you would expect from a professional instrument. A Wittner Hill type gold fine tuner has been added, a company that make top class components for string instruments. As well as this, top quality dominant strings have been fitted to the instrument and the E-string features a professional gold brokat string.

Ebony Fingerboard

Ebony is a popular wood, known best for the clear, crisp attacks it is capable of producing. This wood is generally much brighter than maple and has a similar density too. Ebony also features oilier pores than maple and extra brittle grains, resulting in a tight grain that doesn't require any finish. This quality gives the fingerboard a natural smooth, quick playing ability favored by many professionals. Although there are many types of wood used to create fingerboards, ebony is the darkest of them all. The wood works effectively throughout the instrument’s range and is reliable for years.
