Featuring a hundred professional sounds and samples from the OK Go album “Hungry Ghost” the Volca Sample offers you the ability to re-create or redefine these samples to produce fresh sounding guitar, bass, drum, synth and vocal sounds. Not only can you use these professionally made samples and sounds but you can also tweak them with the on board parameter controls to construct some original and unique sounds. The huge library of sounds, phrases and samples allows the Volca Sample OK Go to constantly surprise you with new and exciting tones.
The Korg Volca Sample includes 11 parameter encoders which allow manipulation and tweaking of the sample sounds. These parameters can be edited for a constant tone change or with motion sequencers to record the knob movements and automate in playback. Additionally, there is also an analog isolator that lets you create excitement by boosting or cutting the low or high function range, a reverse effect that plays the audio source backward, and a reverb effect. These provide powerful and quick ways to keep varying the sound in a variety of styles.
Designed with simple operation and a quick workflow the Volca OK Go is perfect for creating and improvising on the go. With 16 step keys for quick recording and the ability to record in real-time the Korg Volca allows you to combine sequencing techniques to create dynamic tracks. Furthermore the active step feature allows you to instantly insert or remove new steps into a sequence for quick editing whilst the swing function can be used to create dragged styles grooves.
"This limited OK Go edition of Korg volca sample comes loaded with sounds from the album Hungry Ghosts. These are the sounds we used to make our album, and we encourage you to make your own music with them. The volca sample was designed by Tatsuya Takahashi and his team at Korg in Tokyo, and Taku Sakaguchi designed the graphics for this special edition of the instrument. We hope you find inspiration. Play!”

"OK Go is an amazing band with a diverse range of output that's not limited to music (music videos, performances, design, collaboration…). Wouldn't it be great if they released not just songs but an instrument? Wouldn't it be great if anyone could use this instrument to create OK Go remixes? And wouldn't it make a powerful statement if they would redesign the exterior? These thoughts were the impetus for this project. Now you can enjoy the finished result: the volca sample OK Go edition."
