Lightweight poplar body
The Squier Classic Vibe 60s Jazzmaster's body is crafted from poplar, delivering a high frequency response, as well as an overall light tone with sparkling highs. Poplar is a soft tonewood and therefore offers a mellowed tone with some warmer lows. It is a lightweight tonewood and therefore provides a comfortable guitar that can be wielded all night long.
Maple neck and laurel fingerboard
The neck is made from maple, which provides bright tones with plenty of twang, as well as excellent levels of sustain. Paired with a laurel fingerboard, this Contemporary Classic Vibe 60s Jazzmaster yields mellow tones with excellent warmth and good depth.
Versatile and authentic Jazzmaster electronics
The Classic Vibe 60s Jazzmaster is loaded with two Fender® Designed Alnico Single-Coil pickups to provide the nuance and bite that this guitar design is known for. The pickups are wired up to a versatile set of electronics which gives access to separate lead/rhythm circuits. This electronic wiring delivers an independent rhythm circuit with the neck pickup engaged; it also features independent volume and tone controls to provide a large scope for sculpting your own sound.
Modern play-ability
The Classic Vibe 60s Jazzmaster's neck has a "C" shaped profile that enables easy reach across all 6-strings, providing incredible comfort across the entire fingerboard. The addition of a vintage-style floating bridge gives players an authentic tremolo action for subtle pitch-changing effects. The offset body shape enables easy access to all 21 frets for high range solos, while the modern 9.5'' fingerboard radius provides a modern playing feel for easier soloing and chordal comfort.
The history of the Jazzmaster
First introduced at the 1958 NAMM Show with a great deal of chrome and controls, the Jazzmaster was originally designed for traditional jazz musicians. However, it soon found itself embraced by reverb-drenched surf guitarists in the '60s, lip-curling punks in the '70s and legions of alt-indie from the late '80s onwards. Fender's first dual-circuit instrument, the Jazzmaster provided a new level of versatility while the traditional wide and flat pickups produced a broad tonality with less bite and a subtler attack than most single-coil pickups. A first choice among players worldwide, there is nothing that can come close to the naturally comfort, remarkable tonal versatility and character the Jazzmaster guitar offers.
