The Tempest Guitar features a set of Schecter's Pasadena pickups, designed with alnico V magnets, nickel plated carbon steel poles, and split coils for a truly versatile tone. The USA Pasadena neck pickup produces a classic 'PAF' tone and output, creating everything from silky smooth sounds too hard-hitting growls when driven hard. The USA Pasadena plus bridge pickup is based off the USA Pasadena and was originally a custom wired pickup for Avenged Sevenfolds’s Zacky Vengeance. This pickup offers more output and upper mids than the original, delivering a powerfully aggressive tone which drives the guitars sound over the edge. Both pickups feature split-coil capabilities, expanding its tonal range from thick, crunchy chords to bright, jangly leads.
Schecter's 40th Anniversary Tempest is designed with a well-balanced tone, offering a wide variety of sonic possibilities designed for the modern-day player. The flamed maple top offers a great resonance and enhances the natural tones of the body wood, whilst its flame figuring gives the guitar a unique and visually stunning appeal. The mahogany tonewood delivers a naturally warm tone with a touch of bite, creating beautifully tights lows and an appealing high-end ideal for creating sharp tonal runs. The guitar also features black binding for a beautiful look, and a TonePros T3BT TOM bridge with a T1Z tailpiece for incredible string stability.
The 3-piece mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard combination provides the Schecter with tight, warm tones and a defined character. The two tonewoods work well together, creating an open midrange with a fast attack, a muscular, controlled bass, and a snappy, sizzling high-end. It also comes with many other features including Schecter locking machine heads and mother of pearl dot inlays, and side markers on the fingerboard.
The neck and fingerboard offer an incredibly smooth performance, providing a fast playing experience ideal for shredding and soloing. The thin ‘C’ profile is designed to offer the ultimate comfort for technical players, allowing the fretting hand to naturally cup the neck to ensure comfort across the entire fingerboard. The neck is also designed with carbon fibre reinforcement rods to prevent bowing, no matter how much string tension the neck is under.
