The OD-820 from Maxon is equipped with the legendary 808 circuit, offering plenty of gain and transparency that players will love. The OD820’s voltage doubling circuit adds gain, girth and grit without ruining your existing tone, and gives your playing a fluid, effortless feel, ideal for fast solos. This additional headroom also delivers an incredible sustain, along with a superb dynamic response that is true to your playing style.
Equipped with three control options including Drive, Tone and Level, achieving the perfect overdriven tone is easy. The Drive control knob blends clean and dirty tones, delivering clean solo boosts at lower settings and a buttery, light overdrive at high settings.
With its simple three-knob layout, the OD-820 Overdrive Pro Pedal is perfect for beginners or players wanting simplicity. As well as this basic user-interface, the OD-820 also features a rugged, roadworthy chassis that will withstand even the toughest gig. Finally, its compact design means it will sit well on any pedalboard alongside similar pedals.
Maxon started out in Japan in 1965 under the name Nisshin Onpa, manufacturing guitar pickups before producing OEM products for other companies. Nisshin Onpa was responsible for designing and manufacturing many legendary pedals while working in partnership with Ibanez, including the TS-808/TS808 and TS9 tube screamers. Although many of the pedals Maxon created were released under the Ibanez name, Maxon was producing pedals under their own name, and in 2002 when the two companies parted way, Maxon began to push its name as a manufacturer of high-quality effects pedals. Today Maxon produce "hard-to-find" vintage type effects pedals, and are used by many artists such as Pearl Jam, Troy Van Leeuwen, Steve Stevens, Brad Whitford, and many more.
