The F-47R’s grand orchestra body shares many sonic similarities to the grand auditorium shape, offering versatile tones that are well-balanced and suitable for all styles of strumming and fingerstyle playing. The grand orchestra design provides a strong lower midrange and an improved bass response thanks to its deep shape. Also providing incredibly versatile dynamics, the Guild guitar is able to produce deep, robust sounds.
The Guild acoustic features a solid red spruce top to offer loud tones with a broad dynamic range, perfect for a range of playing styles. The red spruce tonewood provides an excellent balance between a fundamental tone and over tone frequencies over all dynamic levels, allowing the guitar to project while retaining its clarity. The F-47R’s Body is crafted from Indian rosewood, a tonewood that delivers sizzling tones with smooth highs and thick lows. The rosewood body provides a strong clear presence across the frequencies, adding articulation to the midrange while giving it a slight scooped effect. The two woods work well together, creating a crisp articulation, a powerfully direct, dark, complex tone and an enhanced bottom and top end.
The Acoustics scalloped bracing is built from red spruce, enhancing the tonal properties of the guitar’s red spruce top. The scalloped design allows the top wood to vibrate more freely without losing any stability, creating excellent resonance that increases the guitars projection. Created to add a warm bass response as well as enhance the guitars natural response, the bracing helps to smooth out the midrange while providing a crisp high end.
With a neck build from a combination of walnut and mahogany, the Guild guitar features a good dynamic range with a fat, warm tone that has plenty of resonance. The mahogany provides a range of balanced tonal properties to give the guitar plenty of depth. The walnut works well with the mahogany, enhancing its sonic properties while adding the guitars resonance. The combination between the two woods provide an excellent balance between the tonal characters, while adding thickness to the acoustics low end. The guitar’s fingerboard is made from rosewood, with its open pours reflecting overtones to deliver a natural fundamental tone. The rosewood adds warmth of softness to the guitars overall tone, while enhancing its natural brightness.
A set of Gotoh open back tuners are featured on the Guild F-47R, providing a quick and stable tuning and string change. The Gotoh tuners are designed with a high turning ratio for easy tuning, while the open back design creates a smooth motion that keeps you playing for as long as possible.
