The original '61-'75 vintage modified bass VI provided a distinctive low end that featured in a number of renown bands, from The Beatles to The Cure. This Squier reissue of the Bass VI is distinguished from the original by its comfortable "modern C" shaped neck and 9.5" fingerboard radius, as opposed to the original's 7.25". Three custom jaguar pickups provide the bass with its distinguished sound, while the vintage-style six-saddle bridge features a non-locking floating vibrato, which is not commonly found on a bass, to create incredible pitch shifting effects.
The Vintage Modified bass boasts three custom Jaguar single-coil pickups with notched "claw" shielding rings, with the middle pickup featuring a reverse-wound reverse-polarity setup to eliminate any unwanted hum. Tree two-position slider switches operate as on/off switches for each pickup, while the fourth switch operates the bass-cut "strangle" tone circuit.
