The Dean Icon Flame Top come equipped with a duo of DMT Series Nostalgia pickups which are vintage style humbuckers. Their moderate output allows guitarists to create classic tones with balanced highs and lows. With the dual volume and tone controls, the guitar is capable of a great deal of tonal variation and would be perfect for the rock and pop genres, although there's no reason why it couldn't be used for even more styles of music.

Flame Top Stylish Body
The Dean Icon Flame Top Body is a 2016 creation using a flame-maple top on a contoured body designed for comfort. The asymmetric double cutaway along with a set-neck design allows easy left-hand transitions up the neck and upper-fret access for high soloing. The body is made from mahogany which is a warm and resonant tonewood, giving this guitar an authoritative tone with good sustain.
Mahogany Neck
The Dean Icon neck is made from beautiful mahogany, crafted into a C-shape profile for a comfortable feel in the hand. The fingerboard features a very wide 12" radius along with 22 jumbo frets. This makes bends and vibrato easier, and ensures accurate fretting on an even playing surface. The ebony fingerboard provides additional snap and resonance, along with increased articulation.
