The Excess pedal takes its cue from the 1980s and packages both distortion and modulation/delay effects into one unit. Its primary tone is a distortion sound upon which the switchable delay/chorus is stacked. This can create either enhanced tone-thickening sounds or a double-tracked effect from a slap-back delay. Whether you choose to play in 1980s style or not, the Excess overdrive provides a fun concept distortion/delay/chorus pedal with a real "boutique" feel from the good people at Old Blood Noise Endeavours.
The Excess Pedal features the option of running in either series or parallel. Series mode routes the distortion directly through to the chorus/delay giving increased interaction and an exciting response. The parallel mode runs each effect separately, only summing them together at the output and providing a more studio-like tone for enhanced clarity. Both settings are very useful and offer great potential for experimentation.
The Excess pedal runs with true-bypass operation for uncoloured signal purity. It is hand-made in a rugged metal chassis and features custom artwork from Atiya Jones. It also provides an expression pedal input for enhanced remote control over the unit. This is a ruggedly built pedal that will look and sound great on your pedalboard.
Brady Smith and Seth McCarroll started Old Blood Moon Endeavours from an Oklahoma garage with a musician-focused passion for creating hand-made pedals. They have gained much popularity and fans over the years, and now their production pedals feature on many pro-guitarists' pedalboards. They have a unique take on pedal design with a real 'boutique' feel.
