When it comes to playability, Gibson know their stuff. Despite its classic J-45 looks, the G-45 Standard features a radical Advanced Response neck and fretboard configuration, designed with the modern guitarist in mind.
Smoothly sweep up the satin-finished utile neck, and you'll notice a subtle tapering effect, allowing easier, sturdier access to those higher frets. And the 16-inch radius of the rosewood fretboard gives it a flatter profile, making complex chords and fingerpicked flourishes a breeze.
Fruits of the forest
Inventive, intelligent wood selection can make or break a guitar's tone. The G-45's walnut body and sides, and sitka spruce top are solid pieces, giving a robust, forward-facing sound that bathes your playing in rich harmonics. But it gets better - as you play in your G-45, the walnut's tone deepens with time for a thick, resonant low end that grows with you.
Focussed fingerpicks. As well as being comfortable to play, the thinner body profile of the G-45 naturally projects the mid-high frequencies more easily from the sound hole. This perfectly accentuates every flick and flourish of your picking hand for rhythms that really resonate.

The G-45 Standard is ready for the road, too. Thanks to the Fishman Sonitone pickup, amplifying your Gibson is as simple as plugging in a jack cable. Easily accessible, without soaking up all that classic Gibson character, the Sonitone's controls are neatly hidden away inside the top of the G-45's sound hole. Simply roll the wheels to quickly adjust your tone and volume with no fuss.
