ES-275 2018

The Gibson ES-275 Custom features a 3-ply maple/poplar body with a classy figured maple top. It is slightly thinner than traditional hollow body guitars, designed to produce the same resonant and warm tones but with more manageable dimensions. The ES-275's vintage inspired humbuckers and electrical wiring provide classic Gibson tones, while modern hardware appointments deliver a fully up-to-date specification.

Vintage Memphis Wiring & Pickups

The ES-275 features MHS ('Memphis Historic Spec') humbuckers that re-create the tonality of the original 'Patent Applied For' pickups that were included with Gibson's instruments from the 50s and 60s. They are wired to the MTC ('Memphis Tone Circuit') with Orange Drop capacitors; this creates a period-correct tone and response with large dynamic range. When mounted to a large hollow body instrument, the pickups re-produce the warm and open-sounding tonality of the guitar and provide the potential for creating biting bridge position tones or smooth neck position sounds.

Quality Hardware

The ES-275 may look like an old guitar but it includes up-to-date hardware with modern reliability and performance. A bone nut gives the guitar increased sustain and assists with its warm tone. The ABR-1 bridge with titanium saddles offer precise intonation and tuning stability. The titanium provides increased sustain and clarity, while the rosewood mounting plate gives a real jazz-guitar aesthetic. Finally, Rotomatic ''Milk Bottle'' tuners are included to deliver reliable tuning stability.
