A Versatile Instrument

Expect bell like chime and glassy trebles with fat single note definition. You are getting a classic sound that redefined guitar music. Fender have included the modern five-way blade switch. Used in tandem with the volume pot, it is a very expressive instrument with a vast array of tonal variety. From modern loud bands like Biffy Clyro to pristine cleans of the Beach Boys, the Strat is there providing, despite what is required of it.

Leo Fender originally featured a three-blade switch to support each pickup, loving the purity in tone. Then players started jamming all sorts of things in to the pickup selector to get the now standard ‘In-between’ sounds – sometimes sticking to vintage correct doesn’t make practical sense.

The Strat’s Signature Single Coils

Alnico Magnets in the Stratocaster help give all those classic Strat tones. Giving a fat, rich, and glassy sound which is clean and bell-like but run them through a fuzz box and you are greeted huge single note articulation. They don’t have as much output as modern day pickups, but they have great dynamic range and a beautiful tone – a classic ‘60s vibe.

A classic 6-saddle vintage style synchronised tremolo is great for Hank Marvin style vibrato. Dynamic and very responsive, it takes time to learn the vibrato. From its subtle uses to just add a bit of colour, to making it sound like a warped record, there is a lot to explore.

Playability and feel are improved. Making the dressing of each fret slightly wider means less fret slip and buzz. Keeping with a period correct radius 7.25’’ fretboard and a ’’C’’ shaped neck, the Strat feels comfortable and perfect for chord work.

A Nitrocellulose Finish

Representing the golden era of Fender is a Strat donning a nitro lacquer – giving a classic vintage look over time. Coming out of Mexico, this is the first guitar from there using a nitrocellulose finish, a vintage touch normally only reserved for the American Vintage and Custom Shop models. It was something that has been requested for so many years and Fender have actually done something about it.

Ideal for Working Musicians

Without having to drop the equivalent of a car to own an original Fender. The Classic series gets you far closer than you might expect. A beautifully constructed alder body and maple neck give great playability, delivering great quality, tone, and reliability. These ‘60s Lacquer series instruments are the best to come out of this factory - period.
